Tattoo aftercare with Saniderm
- Clean hands with soap and warm water.
-Remove bandage after 1 hour.
-Gently clean your tattoo with liquid antibacterial soap (do not use bar soap) and warm water.
-Carefully pat dry your tattoo with a clean paper towel. Do not use a cloth towel. Allow 5-10 minutes to air dry.
-Apply a thin coat of unscented lotion (Curiel, Lubriderm) or ointment (A&D ointment, Aquaphor, all natural). Scented lotions may burn because of the fragrance alcohol.
Ointment may be used for 2-4 days. Switch to unscented lotion for remaining 2 weeks. With lotion you may have to apply 2-4 times daily depending on your skin.
(APPLICATION OF OINTMENT/LOTION: IF YOU RUN YOUR FINGER OVER TATTOO AND YOU HAVE A CLUMP OF LOTION OR OINTMENT ON YOUR FINGER, YOU HAVE PUT TOO MUCH. It should be a thin shiny even coat over your entire tattoo.)
-YOUR TATTOO WILL FLAKE/PEEL OR POSSIBLY SCAB. Tattoos take on average 2 weeks to peel and flake. It takes a full month to heal completely. (DEPENDING ON SIZE AND AMOUNT OF WORK TATTOO MAY LEAK FOR THE FIRST COUPLE OF DAYS)
